A two-weekend course offering in-depth knowledge of wine production, grape varieties, world wine regions, food and wine pairing, and wine tasting skills, leading to the WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines.
In-person study
Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting

It will take a total of 2 weeks

Students will gain knowledge of the world's major wine producing regions, their key grape varieties, and wine styles.

Develop the ability to interpret international wine labels and understand related terminology.

Be able to provide basic guidance on pairing wine with food.
This course explores wine regions of the world and is designed for both wine enthusiasts and industry professionals seeking a well-respected international qualification. Students learn about key grape varieties, wine regions, wine-making processes, styles of wines, and label interpretation. The program also covers food and wine matching, principles of tasting and evaluating wines, and appropriate storage and service practices. Each session includes guided tastings. The course includes approximately 30 hours of study time, classroom sessions, self-directed study, and concludes with a 50-question multiple choice exam.

English requirements: NCEA Level 3, IELTS 6 or Upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher
Prior wine education recommended (WSET Level 1 Award in Wine or Certificate in NZ Wine) but not required. Industry experience may allow direct entry.
