Extend and refine a selected domain (design, music, visual arts, or communication) through sustained practical and scholarly inquiry.
Synthesize Methodology and Context
Develop a research proposal and methodology grounded in contemporary discourse and models of practice.
What You're Signing Up For
The Master of Arts programme at Wintec provides students with an opportunity to develop their practice through sustained, independent research in their selected domain: design, music, visual arts, or communication. Working in a supportive, research-focused environment, students extend their skills and knowledge through both practical and theoretical enquiry. Supervision and frequent peer discussions help students to analyse, critically evaluate, and effectively articulate their research. Access to specialist studios, workshops, and facilities is tailored to the individual’s project needs, supported by technical staff.

- Research Project (BM0Z500, 120 credits)
- OR Research Project 1 (BM0Z501, 60 credits) and Research Project 2 (BM0Z502, 60 credits)
- Development and implementation of a research methodology
- Studio-based practice and written dissertation
- Supervision, peer critique, and research analysis
- Utilisation of specialist media arts facilities
