What You're Signing Up For

Study to become a florist with advanced skills in creating floral arrangements for weddings and corporate events. Learn to manage floristry teams and supply, while gaining hands-on experience and industry connections. The programme includes completion of three courses totaling 60 credits and awards 90 credits in total. It prepares you for roles managing retail floristry stores or running your own business.

Course Content

  • Wedding and corporate floristry: planning, preparing and constructing advanced hand-tied, wired and base medium floral items.
  • Application of design elements and principles to advanced floristry items.
  • Identifying new trends and designs in the floristry industry.
  • Staff and store management: leading and supporting floristry team members, monitoring and managing supply of goods.
  • Event flowers: planning floral designs for events, preparing quotes, constructing large scale floral designs, applying design principles, reflecting on design and techniques.

What you need to know first

New Zealand Certificate in Floristry (Level 3) or equivalent

Sufficient English language competency (IELTS General or Academic score of 5.5 with no band lower than 5 for international students)
