Acquire an in-depth understanding of Aotearoa New Zealand’s diverse tourism sectors, major destinations, and industry structure.

Gain practical skills and knowledge in hotel and hospitality operations relevant to a broad range of tourism roles.

Learn how to develop and promote unique travel experiences for specific interest groups within tourism.
The Certificate in Tourism (Level 4) is designed to give students a comprehensive overview of the NZ tourism industry, explore special interest tourism, understand promotion of tourism destinations, and develop skills in hotel and hospitality operations. The course also covers tourism operations, guiding, travel agency processes, and employment opportunities within tourism. Small classes, inspiring tutors, and local study tours provide practical, real-world learning.
What you need to know first
Domestic: At least 17 years of age (or turning 17 during course), and minimum NCEA Level 2 or a Level 3 qualification in Tourism & Travel.
Special admission: Age 20+ with no formal qualifications but relevant prior learning/work experience.
