Learn to confidently lead and guide individuals or groups in multiple outdoor and adventure tourism activities.

The New Zealand Certificate in Outdoor and Adventure Education (Multi-skilled) Level 4 arms students with the technical and frontline skills needed for a career in the adventure tourism sector. Based in Te Tauihu (Top of the South), students learn through hands-on experience, covering activities like hiking, rafting, whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, sea kayaking, skiing, snowboarding, and canyoning. The programme includes extensive outdoor and workplace practicals, industry practice placements, overnight trips, and develops leadership, risk management, and interpersonal skills. Graduates are prepared for employment or further study in adventure tourism and guiding.
What you need to know first
10 NCEA Level 1 literacy credits and 10 NCEA Level 1 numeracy credits OR equivalent alternative requirements via study, work, or life experience as approved by NMIT.
