It will take a total of 12 weeks

Students will gain an introduction to all aspects of onboard life and develop a wide range of international certifications, preparing them for various crew roles on a superyacht.

Obtain qualifications in navigation, basic radar, STCW basic sea survival, firefighting, and personal safety and social responsibilities.

This 12-week, full-time certificate prepares you for a career on superyachts with a mix of practical maritime and hospitality training. You'll learn onboard life, navigation, maritime engineering, interior service, and safety—gaining internationally recognised qualifications (IMINZ, STCW, RYA, CBES, Radio Spectrum NZ). The programme includes hands-on experiences aboard yachts and powerboats, and provides a pathway to further maritime or hospitality studies.

Medical fitness assessment (Maritime Rules Part 34) required.
Proof of English proficiency for non-native English or te reo Māori speakers: IELTS (General) score of 5 with no band lower than 5, or equivalent.
Completion and submission of a medical form.
