What You're Signing Up For

The NZ Certificate in Early Learning and Care (Level 2) provides foundational knowledge and hands-on skills necessary for caring for and educating young children in a variety of early childhood settings. This programme includes theory and practical work experience, essential for aspiring carers, educators, and support workers in early childhood contexts. The course features guided learning, introductory te reo and tikanga Māori, and aims to develop understanding and support of the holistic wellbeing of children.

What you need to know first

Must be 16 years or older at programme start

No academic qualifications required

Sufficient English competence (may be assessed)

NZ police vetting report as per Vulnerable Children Act 2014

Interview to assess suitability for working with children

Must have access to a computer with camera and stable internet connection
