What You're Signing Up For

The Certificate in Sport Coaching at the University of Canterbury provides working professionals and anyone interested in sport coaching the opportunity to develop practical and theoretical skills relevant to the sporting industry. The programme can be completed via distance or on campus and consists of 60 points of approved courses. Graduates gain foundation skills in sport coaching, with practical and work-based learning, as well as the opportunity to continue to further study such as the Bachelor of Sport.

  • SPRT101 Introduction to Sport Coaching
  • SPCO201 Learner-Centred Teaching and Coaching
  • Two courses from approved elective list, including options in health, management, marketing, psychology, and additional sport coaching modules
