What You're Signing Up For
This programme provides an academic pathway into the sport science industry, covering practical coaching, exercise programme delivery, anatomy, physiology, event planning, and leadership. Study combines theory and practical experience in advanced testing facilities and community settings. All credits can be used towards a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation. Graduates contribute to New Zealand's social, cultural, and economic wellbeing by supporting active lifestyles and leading sport, recreation, and exercise initiatives.

What you need to know first
Minimum age: 16 years
Able to read, write, and communicate in English at a basic level
Physically able to complete programme outcomes
Applicants under 20: 48 credits NCEA level 2 across 4 subjects or equivalent
Applicants 20 years or over: No academic qualifications required; evidence of ability to undertake the programme may be requested
Police check required for all applicants
Special entry may be granted by Academic Leader/delegate based on evidence of ability to succeed
