What You're Signing Up For

The NZ Diploma in Sport, Recreation and Exercise (Level 5) at EIT offers full-time or part-time study in sport, exercise science, and recreation. Students gain knowledge and practical skills in anatomy, physiology, nutrition, health, coaching, sport management, and group fitness. The programme prepares graduates for diverse roles in sport and fitness, with career opportunities including personal training, recreation and community health roles, and further study options. Graduates are recognised as personal trainers by the Register of Exercise Professionals.

What you need to know first

NZ Certificate in Exercise [Level 4]; or

NCEA Level 2; or

Portfolio of evidence and interview for applicants 20+ without standard entry

Police vetting and health declaration required

IELTS 5.5 (with no band below 5.0) or NZCEL Level 4, or equivalent English for international students
