Design and Deliver Exercise Programmes
Design, deliver, and adapt individual and group exercise programmes for a diverse range of clients, including those at risk of common health conditions.

Develop Industry Skills and Professional Identity
Advance communication, customer service, organisational, and time management skills as relevant to the fitness industry.

Understand Anatomy, Physiology, and Nutrition
Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and nutrition to support clients’ health and fitness objectives.
What You're Signing Up For
The NZ Certificate in Exercise (Level 5) at EIT is a practical 17-week programme designed for those seeking employment in the health and fitness industry or wishing to advance their studies in sport, recreation, or exercise science. The programme covers designing, delivering, and adapting exercise programmes, promotes professional and workplace skills, and prepares graduates for personal trainer registration with the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS).

What you need to know first
NZ Certificate in Exercise (Level 4); or equivalent skills, knowledge, and evidence of ability to succeed.
Police vetting and health declaration.
Acceptable English language fluency (IELTS Academic 5.5 with no band less than 5 or NZ English Language Level 4 or equivalent).
