What You're Signing Up For

The Graduate Certificate in Sport and Exercise at AUT is designed for individuals with a prior degree or extensive professional experience looking to upskill or seek entry into the sport and recreation sector. Delivered by the School of Sport and Recreation, the programme allows students to select from a broad range of courses, supported by expert academic staff in coaching, exercise science, nutrition, health education, management, and outdoor education. The certificate offers both personal and professional growth, and can serve as a pathway to further study or employment within the industry.

Course Content

  • Complete at least four courses from the Bachelor of Sport, Exercise and Health
  • At least three courses at Level 7 (advanced undergraduate)
  • Optional additional courses to meet prerequisites for specific pathways
  • Custom study plan based on prior experience and interests
  • Topics may include coaching, exercise science, nutrition, health and physical education, leadership and management, and outdoor education

What you need to know first

A bachelor’s degree OR relevant professional qualification or experience approved by the dean (or representative)

English: IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall with all bands 6.0 or higher, or equivalent
