What You're Signing Up For
The Bachelor of Sport, Exercise and Health at AUT prepares students to address wellbeing for people and communities through sport, exercise, and healthy living. With an emphasis on both theory and practical workplace experience, you will gain a sound understanding of sport, movement, leadership, physical education, health and exercise science. The degree offers flexibility through its choice of majors, minors, and elective options, and integrates Māori perspectives and Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
Course Content
- Core courses in sport, exercise, and health sectors
- Sport, Exercise and Health Cooperative Education (workplace experience)
- Major in Health and Physical Education, Sport and Exercise Science, or Sport Leadership and Management
- Flexible component: minors or elective courses from different AUT degrees
- Options to take a second major or one/two minors (including options outside sport)
- Practical learning using world-class sport facilities
- Honouring mātauranga Māori and Te Tiriti O Waitangi
What you need to know first
University Entrance or equivalent
Must be capable of meeting the Children's Act 2014 requirements, including police clearance
IELTS (Academic) 6.0 overall with all bands 5.5 or higher (or equivalent, for international students)
