Achieve industry and NZQA outdoor instructor qualifications
Attain the Level 3 NZ Certificate in Assistant Outdoor Leadership and Level 4 NZ Certificate in Outdoor Instruction, with industry accreditation.

What You're Signing Up For
The Trainee Outdoor Instructor Program at AdventureWorks provides a pathway for those interested in working in the outdoors to gain NZQA-recognised qualifications and practical experience. The program, combining the NZ Certificate in Assistant Outdoor Leadership (Level 3, 40 credits) and NZ Certificate in Outdoor Instruction (Level 4, 60 credits), is structured as an internship with workplace support, offering online, mentor-driven and practical training. Graduates leave ready for further professional training or employment as outdoor instructors.

What you need to know first
40 credits at NCEA Level 2 including 10 literacy credits at NCEA Level 2 and 10 numeracy credits at NCEA Level 1, or recognised equivalent (school leavers).
Completion of a relevant course at NZQF Level 2, or equivalent (tertiary).
Discretionary entrance may be considered with demonstrated likelihood of success.
Must provide evidence of New Zealand/Australia citizenship or residency (eligible documents required).
Applicants for higher-level qualifications (Levels 4-6) must provide a logbook of minimum logged hours as per entry requirements.
Must have a workplace or volunteer organisation willing to support your development.
