What You're Signing Up For
This four-year Bachelor of Social Work prepares graduates for roles as professional social workers. Students gain theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience across a variety of social work fields and environments, including placements. The curriculum covers human rights, social justice, bicultural practice, multi-disciplinary teamwork, methods for working with diverse communities, and ethical and legislative frameworks. On completion, graduates are eligible for provisional registration with the Social Workers Registration Board and can enter practice in areas like healthcare, schools, government, and community organisations.

What you need to know first
NCEA Level 3 with 60 credits at Level 3 or higher and 20 credits at Level 2 or higher, including literacy and numeracy requirements.
OR a relevant qualification at Level 4 on the NZQF.
Candidates must meet SWRB Fit and Proper criteria, including safety (police vetting) checks.
Applicants aged 20+ without standard entry may be considered for special admission.
International applicants must have an IELTS academic score of 6.5 across all components or equivalent.
