What You're Signing Up For
The Diploma in Aged Care & Community Support is designed to equip students with practical skills and knowledge to work as aged care and community support workers. The course includes training in solution-focused counselling, understanding ageing-related changes and grief, enablement approaches for rehabilitation, and ethical considerations in community care. Delivered 100% online with 12 months access and approximately 200 hours of study, students receive unlimited tutor support and career coaching. Upon completion, students earn an industry accredited Certificate of Achievement. The course aims to develop competencies that enhance job prospects in aged care and community health sectors and provides foundational knowledge in psychology, counselling, and health support.
Course Content
- Certificate in Aged Care Health and Support modules covering community health, wellness, healthy living practices, mental and physical health understanding, chronic disease management, and ethical community care
- Certificate in Counselling Skills including learning specific skills, listening, reflection, questioning, interviewing, solution-finding, and ending counselling
- Certificate in Advanced Counselling Skills covering session management, crisis handling, problem-solving techniques such as aggression, depression, grief, and suicide
- Certificate in Counselling Techniques focusing on various psychotherapy approaches including psychoanalytic, humanistic/existential, behavioural, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioural therapy
