What You're Signing Up For

This certificate provides students the skills to work alongside people and whānau across the health and wellbeing sectors, particularly with a focus on mental health and addiction support. The programme equips you with strategies to foster hope, support recovery and build resilience in individuals and families, as well as professional, communication, and leadership skills tailored to the social services context.

What you need to know first

Must be at least 16 years old at the time the programme commences.

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a basic level.

Physically able to complete the programme specific outcomes.

Must authorise a current police check.

Applicants under 20 years: have achieved NCEA Level 1 or any approved qualification at Level 3 or above.

Applicants 20 years or over: must be able to demonstrate skills for tertiary study acquired through study, work, or life experience.
