The Certificate in Health and Wellbeing at the University of Waikato equips students with practical and cultural skills to support health and wellbeing in individuals, whānau, and communities. This one-year, 120-point programme is underpinned by the concept of hauora, and provides an introduction to human biology, health promotion, data literacy, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, cultural competency, and the social determinants of health, with electives available in related areas. It serves both as an introductory qualification and as a direct pathway to further study, such as a Bachelor's degree in health fields.
