What You're Signing Up For

The Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy Studies at AUT is designed for health professionals, volunteers, and individuals interested in becoming psychotherapists. The programme is the first stage of AUT’s integrated psychotherapy pathway, and prepares graduates for entry into the Master of Psychotherapy. Students explore theory and foundation skills in psychotherapy, develop self-awareness, effective communication, and gain an understanding of human experience and behaviour. There is an option to focus on child and adolescent psychotherapy.

A bachelor's degree OR a relevant professional qualification or experience approved as equivalent to a bachelor's degree

Interview may be required

Recommended: six months' own personal psychotherapy

People-helping experience (e.g. counselling) recommended
