The Master of Music (MMus) at Waikato provides advanced, research-led training in composition, performance, or opera. - MMus (Composition): MUSIC514 Composition Portfolio (120 points) - creation and presentation of a significant body of original music.
- MMus (Performance): MUSIC524 Advanced Performance (120 points) - advanced-level recital preparation and performance.
- MMus (Advanced Opera): MUSIC525 Advanced Opera Studies (120 points) - immersive, holistic training for opera singers, including training, auditions, performance opportunities, and access to international tutors.
- Individual supervision sessions with expert staff.
- Public recitals or presentations.
- Professional development and networking opportunities with music industry organizations.
What you need to know first
BMus(Hons) or academic equivalent with at least second class honours (second division)
MMus (Performance): Successful audition required
MMus (Opera): Entry by audition, CV, 2+ video performance recordings, 2 references from a teacher or opera practitioner
