What You're Signing Up For
The New Zealand Diploma in Music (Level 5) is designed for musicians aiming to enhance existing skills and performance experience. Students will progress their writing, arranging, and music theory abilities for both commercial and personal purposes. The year-long, full-time programme features hands-on projects in audio engineering, advanced audio techniques, production, and on-stage performance. You will also learn about the global music market and essential business skills, including self-promotion and project management, to further professional pathways as a musician.

What you need to know first
Be at least 17 years of age
Music qualification (Level 4) or equivalent OR NCEA Level 2 with passes in English/Te Reo Māori or education achievement at least equivalent to NCEA Level 2 and a minimum of 42 credits at Level 3 (including 10 reading and writing credits), OR evidence of ability to complete the academic requirements
All applicants are required to attend an audition to demonstrate their instrumental or vocal proficiency
