What You're Signing Up For
The New Zealand Diploma in Music (Level 5) at NMIT develops advanced skills in live and studio sound production, composition, arranging, performance, and professional music practices. Students study sound engineering techniques, music literacy, songwriting, and music industry skills. The program includes practical performance opportunities in state-of-the-art facilities such as recording studios and the Johnny Cash performance theatre. Graduates apply advanced music theory, composition techniques, and professional music industry knowledge to develop their musicianship and career planning.

What you need to know first
New Zealand Certificate in Music Level 4 or equivalent skills and knowledge
English language proficiency (IELTS 5.5 overall with minimum 5 in each band or equivalent)
Special entry possible by Head of Department approval including interview or diagnostic assessment
