What you need to know first

Level 3 Automotive Engineering qualification (such as New Zealand Certificate in Automotive Engineering Level 3) or equivalent skills and knowledge.

For the managed apprentice option: must be employed in a light automotive engineering workshop at a commercially-acceptable industry standard.

Training agreement between apprentice, employer, and provider.
