What You're Signing Up For

The Bachelor of Nursing with Honours (BNurs(Hons)) at the University of Waikato is designed for students with strong academic performance who are already employed in clinical practice and supported by their clinical managers. The programme includes a research thesis and support from both clinical mentors and academic supervisors. It prepares nurses for leadership, research, and further doctoral-level study, with a focus on improving equity for Māori and Pacific peoples and addressing mental health and addiction in diverse settings.

  • 500-level Health Sciences paper (30 points) approved by workforce manager and the University

What you need to know first

Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Waikato with at least a B+ grade average across 300-level papers, or an equivalent qualification as decided by the Academic Board.

Current employment in clinical nursing practice and support from clinical manager.
