This professional qualification prepares you to provide nursing care in diverse settings, working closely with Registered Nurses and other practitioners. Delivered through on-campus study and clinical placements, you'll develop foundational and specialised nursing skills. Graduates are eligible to apply for the Nursing Council of New Zealand State Exam to become a qualified Enrolled Nurse.

What you need to know first
NCEA Level 2 with 80 credits, including: 10 credits in NCEA English/Literacy Level 1, 12 credits in NCEA Maths/Numeracy or Pangarau Level 1, and 58 credits at Level 2 or higher (including English, Maths, a science subject, and one other)
OR successful completion of a NZQA Level 4 equivalent qualification (for mature applicants 20 years or older within 5 years)
Current first aid certificate (Red Cross Comprehensive or St John’s Workplace)
Completed medical declaration or current health certificate
New Zealand Police check
Two testimonials or character references
Numeracy assessment at interview (30 questions)
Group interview
For non-native English speakers: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with no band less than 6.5, or OET with C+ in each section in one sitting
