What You're Signing Up For
The New Zealand Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (Level 5) at Manukau Institute of Technology is designed to launch a career as an enrolled nurse. Students will acquire critical skills through theoretical study and hands-on clinical experience in modern facilities and a variety of healthcare environments. Graduates are eligible to sit the State Examination and apply for registration as an enrolled nurse in New Zealand. The course includes academic and practical components, development of professional identity, and preparation for work in areas such as acute care, rehabilitation, mental health, and community settings.

- Enrolled nurse practice: mental health and addiction
- Enrolled nurse practice: acute care
What you need to know first
NCEA Level 2 (10 credits in Level 1 Mathematics, 12 credits in Level 2 Science-rich subjects)
OR New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) Ara Health Pathway or recognised equivalent
Alternative entry via evidence of tertiary study skills/work/life experience (RPL possible)
Current first aid certificate
Consent to NZ Police vetting
Two referee reports and/or interview
Meet Health Authority clinical placement requirements (e.g., MRSA clearance)
English proficiency: IELTS 6.5 Academic (no subtest lower than 6.5, valid for 2 years) OR OET C+ minimum across all bands
PTE is NOT accepted
