The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) at the University of Waikato is a one-year full-time or longer part-time, supervised research degree. It recognises an original contribution to knowledge smaller than a PhD, and requires candidates to demonstrate expertise in research methods and intellectual independence. The MPhil is available in a wide range of subject areas within the university and aims to make a substantial original contribution to the selected area.
