Strengthened STEM knowledge
Graduates will develop a strengthened understanding and background across a range of STEM subjects, equivalent to one semester of university-level STEM study.

STEM teaching capability
Teachers with an existing qualification will be better prepared and more confident to teach STEM subjects at the primary or secondary level.

Develop skills to assist schools with addressing the shortage of STEM-qualified teachers.
What You're Signing Up For
The Certificate in STEM, offered by the University of Waikato, enables students to boost their background in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, either full-time or part-time. The programme is suitable for a broad range of students, including teachers wishing to become STEM leaders. The certificate consists of four 100-level papers selected from a wide range of STEM subjects. Graduates will have a solid foundation for further STEM study and be equipped with skills in critical thinking, self-directed learning, and communication.
