What You're Signing Up For
The Bachelor of Commerce and Science (BComSc) at the University of Otago enables students to pursue an interdisciplinary education combining business and science. Over four years of full-time study, students personalise their degree with two majors (one from Commerce and one from Science), developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills sought after by employers. The programme is flexible, supporting interests across hundreds of possible subject combinations, and prepares graduates for success in both experimental/research and industry-focused contexts.
Course Content
- Choose two majors: one from Commerce and one from Science
- Complete at least 216 points from Commerce Schedule C and 216 from Science Schedule C
- Fulfill the major subject requirements for both a Commerce and a Science major
- Take required first-year Commerce papers BSNS 111–115
- Optional minor subject available from a broad set of areas
- Develop skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork
- Personalise degree with hundreds of subject combinations
