What You're Signing Up For

The Bachelor of Optometry (BOptom) at the University of Auckland is a five-year undergraduate degree that combines vision science and clinical optometry. Students learn basic physical and life sciences, optics, vision anatomy and physiology, ocular pathology and pharmacology, and therapeutic techniques. Clinical training, communication and business skills are emphasised, preparing graduates for a range of professional pathways in private practice, public health, industry, or research as registered optometrists.
