Refresh knowledge and practices in drug assisted airway management
Update theoretical understanding and practical skills necessary for safe and effective drug assisted airway interventions.

Recognise and troubleshoot difficult airways
Identify patients with anticipated airway challenges and implement appropriate troubleshooting strategies.

Demonstrate DAAM procedures and use of equipment
Practise core airway management techniques and use devices relevant to DAAM, including ventilator use, cricothyroidotomy, and intubation variants.

It delivers updated theory and hands-on practice in drug assisted airway management through online modules and a single-day face-to-face practical session.

- Pharmacology relevant to drug assisted airway management
- DAAM procedures
- Recognition and troubleshooting of difficult airways
- Mechanical ventilation review
- Skill stations (ventilator troubleshooting, airway assessment, reasoning for RSI/DSI/truncated intubation, cricothyroidotomy, inotropic support)
- Clinical simulations
- Case study discussions
- Compulsory formative MCQ assessment
What you need to know first
Primarily for prehospital emergency services and intensive care paramedics with rapid sequence intubation (RSI) endorsement, or those wishing to gain this endorsement.
Must be a health professional working in the emergency or paramedicine sector.
