Core skills this course teaches

Understand vehicle inspection protocols
Participants will gain knowledge of the protocols for conducting comprehensive vehicle inspections in line with NZTA requirements.

Assess key vehicle systems
Students will learn to inspect and assess key systems such as structural integrity, lighting, vision, brakes, suspension, wheels, tyres, exhaust, interior, and door mechanisms.

Adhere to customer service standards
Develop skills for applying appropriate customer service protocol within a vehicle inspection environment.

The Vehicle Inspectors Preparatory Course is designed for people working in the automotive industry who want to become certified vehicle inspectors. The course covers essential aspects of vehicle inspection including customer service protocols, assessment of various vehicle systems, legal requirements, and documentation. Successful participants will receive a Unitec Certificate of Attendance and may apply to the NZ Transport Agency for further assessment toward becoming an authorised Vehicle Inspector.
