What You're Signing Up For
A micro-credential course for those with little or no prior experience in MIG welding, as well as for anyone seeking a refresher. It focuses on welding theory, equipment setup, health and safety, and hands-on MIG welding to industry standards. Students learn to inspect welds, prepare materials, use welding equipment, and identify/repair defects, with majority of time spent on practical activities.

What you need to know first
Be 16 years of age on or before course commencement, or provide an Early Release Exemption form
Minimum of three years of secondary education or equivalent
Minimum eight credits at NCEA Level 1 in English
If English is not your first language: NCEA Level 3 and University Entrance, or equivalent evidence of English proficiency
