Work independently as a mechanical engineering tradesperson
Graduates will be prepared for independent roles in the mechanical engineering and manufacturing sectors, especially as a Fitter Turner or a General Engineer.

Apply practical mechanical engineering and trade skills
Gain core competencies in fitting, machining, welding, fabrication, fluid power, and the use of trade tools and engineering materials.

Understand and apply engineering health & safety
Develop and demonstrate workplace safety knowledge, following industry-standard procedures and compliance.
What You're Signing Up For
This apprenticeship programme equips you with the full range of skills needed to become a mechanical tradesperson. Learn through a blend of part-time study and paid, supervised work. You'll cover mechanical fitting, machining, welding, fluid power, trade calculations, safety, and hands-on use of engineering materials and tools. Tutoring, flexible class modes and close employer involvement ensure you gain the practical, job-ready capabilities required for success in mechanical engineering or general engineering trades.
