Service and repair all makes and models; disassemble, measure, and reassemble engines.

Service engine, transmission, and driveline systems
Maintain and repair engine, transmission, and driveline systems following industry standards.
What You're Signing Up For
This practical, managed apprenticeship course covers all fundamental principles of automotive engineering, including diagnosis, repair, engine and system servicing, safety, and customer interaction. Supported by highly skilled apprenticeship coordinators, learners train in the workplace with tailored day release and night classes, developing skills across mechanical and electrical systems. Graduates will be prepared for entry-level positions in the automotive industry.

What you need to know first
10 credits each in literacy and numeracy at NCEA Level 1 OR comparable skills and knowledge
Be working in the automotive industry
Drivers licence (full, restricted, or learners recommended; not compulsory but to be gained during course if not held)
Special admission may be possible for those over 20 years or with sufficient capability
