What You're Signing Up For

This full-time, practical automotive engineering programme takes students from basic workshop skills through to advanced servicing and repair of a wide range of vehicles. Learners will develop competencies in disassembling, measuring, and reassembling engines, servicing transmission, driveline, brake, steering, and suspension systems, as well as working with electrical, electronic, and high voltage systems. The course includes training in welding and engineering tasks, and is led by qualified tutors. Graduates are ready for entry-level positions in the automotive industry and can progress to further study or managed apprenticeships.

What you need to know first

10 credits in each of literacy and numeracy at NCEA Level 1, OR demonstrate suitable knowledge and skills

English language requirements: IELTS 5.0 (no band lower than 5) or equivalent New Zealand Certificate in English Language at Level 3 with appropriate endorsement

A Class 1 full, restricted, or learners driver's licence is recommended but not essential. Guidance to obtain a licence is provided if not held.
