Core automotive engineering skills
Develop and demonstrate practical competence in the use of tools, equipment, and safety procedures required for the automotive workshop.

Understand automotive systems
Gain knowledge of various automotive sub-systems including engines, driveline, electrical/electronics, brake, steering, suspension, and HVAC.

Preparation for the workplace
Gain real experience through industry placements to prepare for employment as a trainee technician or advance to apprenticeships.

What you need to know first
10 credits in each of literacy (reading and writing) and numeracy at NCEA Level 1 OR demonstration of suitable knowledge and skills.
Applicants aged 20+ may be considered on evidence of ability to succeed.
International: IELTS (General or Academic) score of 5 with no band score lower than 5, or NZCEL Level 3 with endorsement, or equivalent English proficiency.
