What You're Signing Up For

The NZ Certificate in Foundation Skills (Automotive and Engineering) (Level 2) at EIT is a practical, hands-on programme designed to give you essential skills for further study in automotive and/or engineering trades. You'll learn in a project-based setting that integrates theory and practical skills development such as using tools, safe welding, and workplace communication. Graduates will be prepared for entry-level trade pre-apprentice programmes or related industry roles.

  • Reading and understanding job sheets/job cards
  • Communication of job requirements (written & verbal)
  • Listening and following instructions
  • Reading and interpreting specifications and manuals
  • Recording daily work activities
  • Measuring and calculating materials required for projects
