Interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Graduate will be able to accurately interpret mechanical engineering drawings or specifications for trade-level machining.

Select and use appropriate materials, tools and processes
Graduate will demonstrate the ability to identify, select and properly use materials, tools, equipment and processes relevant to required mechanical engineering tasks.

Work safely and meet workplace health and safety requirements
Graduate will meet all applicable workplace health and safety standards in a mechanical engineering environment.
What You're Signing Up For
This part-time certificate programme teaches students technical and problem solving skills required in mechanical engineering environments, with a strand focus on machining. Students will learn to interpret drawings and specifications, select and use materials, tools and processes for various mechanical engineering tasks, and meet workplace health and safety requirements. Programme participants must be employed in the industry and take part in an Ara managed apprenticeship. Graduates are prepared for expanded responsibilities in engineering and manufacturing businesses.
