This course explores contemporary legal topics related to resource management and planning in New Zealand. It specifically examines the Resource Management Act (RMA), the Local Government Act (LGA) including policy, plan-making, by-laws and resource consent provisions, and legislation specific to Canterbury. Students will learn to prepare expert evidence for hearings and advice, analyse relevant legislation and case law, and use legal research tools.
