Core skills this course teaches

Communicate using basic New Zealand Sign Language
Students will demonstrate the ability to use basic signs necessary for everyday interactions in a workplace environment.

Engage in customer service exchanges
Learners will be able to manage common customer service scenarios using sign language.

Share information with Deaf or hearing-impaired colleagues
Participants will develop skills for effective information exchange and inclusive communication at work.
What You're Signing Up For
Sign in the Workplace is a 10-week, part-time course designed to teach the basics of New Zealand Sign Language for effective communication in the workplace, especially with Deaf or hearing-impaired colleagues and customers. The course offers practical language skills, focusing on customer service interactions and information sharing, and aims to support inclusive, accessible work environments.
