Graduates will be able to use foundation-level te reo Māori to participate in familiar contexts within whānau, hapū, iwi and wider community settings.

Graduates will be able to support the use and promotion of te reo Māori amongst whānau, hapū, and in community and cultural roles.

Te Pōkaitahi Reo (Reo Rua) (Level 2) is designed for absolute beginners keen to learn basic te reo Māori language skills. The course is offered mainly through evening classes for part-time study and day classes for full-time study, with blended online and face-to-face delivery. After completing this programme, graduates will be able to support and promote te reo Māori usage in their communities and within cultural settings. The qualification provides a pathway to Level 3 and 4 Māori language programmes.
