The New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Academic) (Level 4) is designed for learners wanting to pursue further academic study in an English language medium. The programme focuses on enhancing language abilities to communicate independently and effectively in familiar and unfamiliar academic situations, with an emphasis on fluency and flexibility. Graduates generally meet the English requirements to enrol in diploma and degree courses at NZQA levels 6 and 7. The programme is comparable to CEFR mid B2 and covers reading, writing, speaking, listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

IELTS 5.5 (no band less than 5.5) or equivalent
