What you need to know first

At least 16 years of age at the start (or school exemption)

NZ citizen (or Australia, Tokelau, Niue, Cook Islands) or permanent resident

Successfully completed Te Haputanga o te Reo (Te Kaupae 5) OR a te reo Māori diploma at Level 5 OR Year One of a te reo Māori degree (Rumaki)

Interview or information hui with a kaiako
