What You're Signing Up For
This interactive Level 1 Māori language programme introduces students to basic pronunciation, vocabulary, sentence structure, greetings, introductions, and Māori cultural protocols (tikanga). It is designed for those new to Te Reo Māori and aims to build confidence in using the language for personal or professional contexts. The programme is the first part of a 36-week path (including Level 2).

- Basic greetings and self-introductions
- Understanding and following tikanga (customs and protocols)
- Basic vocabulary and sentence structures
- Waiata (songs)
- Introduction to Māori social organization and institutions
- Learning methodologies (Ako Whakatere)
- Language of objects, people, body parts, and locations
- Simple instructions and directions
- Language of time, dates, days, months, and seasons
