What You're Signing Up For

The New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Applied) (Level 3) is intended for intermediate English speakers aiming to improve their academic English skills in preparation for further language or subject study. The programme is nationally recognized and facilitates progression to other study institutes or advanced English qualifications in New Zealand. Course delivery is on campus in Dunedin with intakes in February and July. Students learn through patient teachers, small group practice, interaction with native and guest speakers, and develop study skills through self-directed learning and group work. The course includes approximately 20-22 hours per week in class plus 10-14 hours of self-study, lasting 17 weeks full-time. Entry requires prior Level 3 English proficiency or equivalent. Domestic tuition is approximately NZD 2,995 and international tuition is NZD 8,000, excluding additional textbook costs.
