What You're Signing Up For

This te reo Māori programme develops your ability to speak and understand te reo Māori across everyday and formal contexts. You'll be supported by experienced kaiako, participate in practical learning such as noho marae, and gain confidence to communicate effectively most of the time in a variety of settings. The certificate is set at NZQA Level 4, and offers pathways to more advanced immersion study or roles where knowledge of te reo Māori is valued.

What you need to know first

NCEA Level 2 with passes in Te Reo Māori or Te Reo Rangatira

Successful achievement of Te Pōkaitahi Reo (Te Kaupae 3) or equivalent intermediate-level Reo programme

Evidence of equivalent Reo skills and knowledge as approved by Curriculum Manager

Applicants aged 20+ without formal prerequisites may be considered for special admission
