Develop advanced proficiency in te reo Māori
Students will improve their spoken and written Māori language skills, enabling confident communication in a variety of settings.

Apply Māori language on the marae and in daily life
Students will gain the ability to use te reo Māori appropriately in both marae settings and everyday contexts.

Demonstrate leadership in marae customs
Students will gain practical experience and leadership roles in the context of marae customs and practices.
What You're Signing Up For
This qualification is for graduates of the Level 3 programme who wish to further develop their knowledge of the Māori language and marae customs and practices. The programme focuses on speaking te reo Māori and applying it in everyday life and on the marae ātea. Leadership experience is built into the second half of the year. The qualification enables progression to further study in te reo Māori or Māori studies.
