Communicate independently in te reo Māori
Graduates will have the skills and knowledge to communicate in te reo Māori with some independence and confidence in everyday whānau, marae, social/community, workplace, and/or academic contexts.

Apply te reo Māori in various environments
Use te reo Māori appropriately and comfortably in Māori environments and places where graduates feel comfortable.

Demonstrate improved reading, writing, listening and speaking
Further develop core language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) specific to the Māori language and its usage.
What You're Signing Up For
Te Pōkaitahi Reo Māori (Reo Rua) [Kaupae 3] | NZ Certificate in Te Reo Māori [Level 3] is designed for learners who have a basic foundation in te reo Māori and want to further develop intermediate proficiency in the language. The programme supports growth in reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills related to Māori language and culture. Upon graduation, students will have increased independence and confidence using te reo Māori in a range of settings.
Course Content
- Intermediate level (Level 3) Te Reo Māori language acquisition
- Māori and marae activities (including noho marae)
- Work-based activities requiring the use of te reo Māori
- Reading, writing, listening, and speaking practice
- Communication in Māori for social, community, workplace, and academic contexts
- Exposure to te ao Māori (the Māori world) and basic cultural customs
