What You're Signing Up For
This Level 4 NZ Certificate provides practical training in fundamental IT skills such as computer hardware, operating systems, applications, software and web development, user experience, and interface design. The programme prepares students for entry-level support roles and further study in IT through project-based learning, including courses in IT foundations, web design, programming, and database projects. It is delivered full-time (17 teaching weeks) with part-time options and includes industry relevant skills development to help graduates progress in the digital technologies sector.
Course Content
- IT Foundations (15 credits): Applying knowledge to support organisation IT resources
- Web Design Foundations (15 credits): Design and develop interactive websites
- Programming Foundations (15 credits): Writing code to create simple software applications
- Database Project (15 credits): Applying project management and technical skills to develop a database project
What you need to know first
Minimum 4 years secondary education and completed NCEA Level 1 or equivalent certificate at Level 2 or 3 as listed
Recommended assessment standards in Digital Technologies Level 2
English proficiency equivalent to 12 NCEA Level 1 credits in English
For international students: IELTS 5.5 overall with no band less than 5 or equivalent
